When you want to invite more empowered health and

When you want to invite more empowered health and wellness into your life, start by asking your body what it needs right now.

Sometimes it can be hard to hear or discern, so doing this in a quiet place or writing down what pops into your head can be helpful.

What does your body need right now?

If you can’t see what comes next and you don’t hav

If you can’t see what comes next and you don’t have the strength to pick yourself up to walk one more step, it’s okay to sit down and rest where you’re at. You’re not giving up....there are blessings and miracles and beauty in the space of surrender and just ‘being’...a chance to truly listen to what your mind, body and soul needs (though this can be hard!)...a chance to honor yourself and your journey...it can be a painful place...a place that can feel uncomfortable...a place that feels uncertain…a place that feels like you’re not moving forward...a place where you take an inventory of what supplies and support you need for the next leg of the journey...a place to just ‘be’...a place to give ourselves permission to just ‘be’...a place to begin healing...a place to shift course...a place to listen to what we need in the moment...a place of rest.

Have you ever made a decision for your health and wellness that someone close to you didn’t agree with?
How did you navigate that decision making process?

For me, I tune in to my body and listen to what I truly want and need, both emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard not to second guess yourself when trusting how something FEELS for you… But ultimately, your body knows what you need.

Listen to your inner cues of intuition.

While you can gather opinions and insights from experts and loved ones… Ultimately, it comes down to what feels right for you.

So pray about it.
Meditate on it.
Journal about it.
Sit in silence and listen.
Ask your body what it needs.
Go inward.

You are allowed to choose what you know you need.

Play with the concept of not letting everyone’s opinions, fears, or concerns influence your inner knowledge. You can hear it and then discern if it’s true for you.

Consider the truth that you don’t have to abandon yourself when making decisions.

When you take the time and space to listen and tease out your own voice among the others, trust that you know what’s best for you.

I am feeling very scattered and overwhelmed today

I am feeling very scattered and overwhelmed today - 1,000 thoughts and to-do list items swirling in my head which make it hard to concentrate on anything. In the past when I’ve felt this way, it’s usually an indication that I am not practicing self-care. It usually means I need to do something that fills me up and re-centers me..something that feels life-giving to me like practicing meditation, playing the piano, or going for a walk in nature.

I know what I really need right now is to go for a walk in nature. It would allow me time to process, time to center myself and time to be more present to what is happening in the moment….not what I need to do 10 steps from now. Prioritizing a walk is the self-care I need right now.

Self-care is essential to living a balanced life.

What is a 10 minute or less self-care activity you can do to recenter you when you’re feeling overwhelmed?

For me, it’s going for a walk and being mindful of every step.
